TLDR - We respect your privacy. Your songs, setlists, and recordings stay yours. We use Clerk for secure authentication, store your content securely, and never sell your data. Recordings are stored locally on your device unless you choose cloud sync in the future.
INTRODUCTION
Welcome to MY RAD SET! This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, and protect your information when you use our band setlist management application. We're committed to protecting your privacy and being transparent about our data practices.
INFORMATION WE COLLECT
Account Information
When you create an account through Clerk (our authentication provider), we collect:
- Email address
- Display name (optional)
- Profile picture (optional)
- Authentication tokens for secure login
Content You Create
We store the following content you create in the app:
- Songs: Titles, keys, BPM, lyrics, notes, and other song metadata
- Setlists: Your organized song collections, breaks, and performance notes
- Band Information: Band names, member roles, and collaboration settings
- Profile Settings: Display preferences and app configurations
Recordings (Local Storage)
Important: Currently, all audio recordings you make in MY RAD SET are stored
locally on your device using your browser's IndexedDB storage. These recordings:
- Do NOT get uploaded to our servers
- Are accessible only on the device where they were created
- Remain under your complete control
- Are not backed up automatically
We may offer optional cloud storage for recordings in the future, but this will require your explicit consent and will be clearly communicated.
Technical Information
Like most web applications, we automatically collect:
- Device type and browser information
- IP address and general location (city/country level)
- Usage patterns and feature interactions
- Error logs and performance data
HOW WE USE YOUR INFO
We use your information to:
- Provide and maintain the MY RAD SET service
- Sync your songs and setlists across devices
- Enable band collaboration features
- Communicate with you about your account
- Improve and develop new features
- Ensure security and prevent abuse
- Process payments (through Stripe or Apple/Google Play)
DATA SHARING & THIRD PARTIES
Service Providers We Use
- Clerk: Authentication and user management
- Payment Processors: Stripe, Apple App Store, Google Play (for subscriptions)
- Hosting Provider: For storing your songs and setlist data
What We Don't Do
- ❌ We never sell your personal information
- ❌ We never share your songs or setlists without your permission
- ❌ We never use your content for advertising
- ❌ We never share recordings (they're local-only anyway!)
Sharing Features You Control
You may choose to share setlists with band members or generate public links for gig sharing. These features are always opt-in and under your control.
DATA SECURITY
We take security seriously:
- All data transmission uses HTTPS encryption
- Passwords are managed securely by Clerk (we never see them)
- Database access is restricted and monitored
- Regular security updates and backups
- Industry-standard security practices
YOU RIGHTS AND CHOICES
You have the right to:
- Access Your Data: Request a copy of all data we store
- Edit Your Data: Update or correct your information anytime
- Delete Your Data: Request account deletion (we'll delete everything within 30 days)
- Export Your Data: Download your songs and setlists
- Opt Out: Unsubscribe from promotional emails

CHILDREN'S POLICY
MY RAD SET is available for users of all ages, including young musicians and students. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13 without parental consent. If you're under 13, please have a parent or guardian create your account and supervise your use of the app.
INTERNATIONAL USERS
MY RAD SET is operated from the United States. If you're accessing the app from outside the US, your information may be transferred to and stored in the US. By using MY RAD SET, you consent to this transfer.
DATA RETENTION
We retain your information:
- Active accounts: As long as your account remains active
- Deleted accounts: 30 days after deletion (to allow recovery)
- Legal obligations: Longer if required by law
- Recordings: Indefinitely on your device until you delete them
CHANGES TO THIS POLICY
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We'll notify you of significant changes through the app or via email. Your continued use of MY RAD SET after changes means you accept the updated policy.
CALIFORNIA PRIVACY RIGHTS (CCPA)
If you're a California resident, you have additional rights:
- Know what personal information we collect
- Request deletion of your information
- Opt-out of sale of information (we don't sell data anyway!)

MY RAD SET uses minimal cookies for:
- Authentication (keeping you logged in)
- Preferences (remembering your settings)
- Security (preventing fraud)
We do not use third-party advertising or tracking cookies.
